Christmas Message

We wish you a very Merry Christmas and wish to thank you for your support this year!

This Year’s Christmas Gift

Normally at Christmas we like to deliver gifts and cards to our clients to thank them for their business and friendship. This year, we’ve decided to do things a little differently, and in honour of the wonderful clients we’ve worked with throughout the year, we’re putting together a very different kind of gift.

Over the past few weeks, we’ve been busily shopping for toiletries, linens and household products to donate to two local charities we really wanted to support: Stepping Stone Baskets and The Townsville Women’s Centre . These gifts, benefiting persons in need, will be made in your name to thank you for giving us the opportunity to do such great work with you in 2015. It’s also a way for us to give back to our community, something we know our clients value as much as we do.

The two charities who will receive our donation of these much-needed supplies are:

Stepping Stones Baskets, a not-for-profit volunteer group supplying baskets of household/hygiene products to those most in need: young people transitioning out of foster care, shelters and homelessness, and people fleeing from domestic violence.

The Townsville Women’s Centre, a women-only space offering a range of support services & counselling for victims of domestic violence, sexual abuse and homelessness.

Other Exciting Announcements

I’m also happy to share some big news about where Verve Design is heading in the New Year!

Our 2016 vision focuses on collaboration and innovation by being an early adopter of digital and social change.

The first part of our vision includes our team’s transition to a virtual model.

We are making the most of Townsville’s early access to the NBN by installing a virtual server in our office, enabling us to support staff working from various locations.

This means that not only can our current staff work from the same server anywhere in Australia, but we also can now also recruit highly qualified senior designers from major metropolitan cities.

This will allow us to elevate our existing high quality work by tapping into the wealth of accomplished designers across Australia, whom we otherwise would not be able to hire. We recognise the challenge of retaining talent in a regional city, but are passionate about continuing to grow the creative industries in Townsville. Moving to a virtual team means Verve can expand its team to include senior designers of high calibre from across Australia, to share knowledge and grow the industry even further.

The second part of our vision is based in our commitment to collaboration. As a passionate advocate for growing the creative industries in Northern Australia, we have also been working towards adopting another model to strengthen our business and firmly establish our position as an innovator in our field.

As you know, we recently relocated to a new commercial space at the top of Denham Street in Townsville. This move was part of a broader direction for Verve, which we are thrilled to share with you now.

February 2016 will see our space evolve into a vibrant co-working hub for creative minds and entrepreneurs called the “The Common Good.’’

This project aims to bring the collective creative talent of individual operators from across the city to one location, where they can work collaboratively to secure local tenders and projects which currently go to large southern firms.

A project like this has the potential to boost Townsville’s profile as a breeding ground for professional talent in the creative industries, and we are excited to be leading it. You can follow The Common Good studio here.

So What Does This Mean for You?

You can be proud that you not only are working with a multi-award winning business, but also one that innovates for growth and development ahead of the curve.

We are lifting the game in North Queensland and we know your business will benefit from the results.

Our new staff will bring with them unique experiences and skills that will further enhance the quality of our work, inject new ideas into the business and Townsville, and expand our product offerings into new and emerging services.

As always, our quality service delivery and client outcomes are at the heart of these new models. Our customized, personal service and work response times will not change (rather, they will be better!) and Verve will continue to base its core business out of Townsville.

If you have any questions about these wonderful changes, please do not hesitate to contact me.

I look forward to sharing our excitement with you in 2016.

Have a very Merry Christmas and a safe and Happy New Year!
